„Villa Chara“ is sited in village Cara on island of Korcula, only 100 km away from Dubrovnik.

„Villa Chara“ is originally old stone house built over 200 years ago and fully refurbished in 2010. Refurbishment took over 5 years to finish, in order for today’s Villa Chara to glow in its original and full beauty.
Stone walls are 60-80 cm thick and ensure not only the security, but full protection from all climate effects, both cold and summer heats.
"Villa Chara" has been originally built by hard labor of local peasants that brought the stone for building the house from 8 km far quarry using donkeys. Each day they brought 2-3 pieces of stone, the essence material that this house is built of. To build the house it took them approx. 10 years.
Today’s Villa Chara represents highly representative real-estate located on a cliff at the top of the village of Cara at approx 250 meters of height above the sea level, that enables unforgettable view onto vineyards where indigenous wine breed Pošip is grown, onto islands of Mljet, Lastovo and Lastovo archipelago.
"Villa Chara" is fully adapted technologically to modern time requirements. It is interesting to mention that Villa Chara for everyday use is not using public water supply, but rain water collected into two specially designed big underground tanks carved in stone.
