Hotel Simonis is a romantic framework house in authentic German style. It has been built in the 17th century. With 14 rooms, it has been renovated and redecorated to fit modern needs. . The season is from Easter until the end of October, with the Christmas holidays and New Years packages, we make it interesting to many English guests to come to the Mosel/ Rhine area. We use one of the rooms as our private accommodation. This room has 100m2, a large bathroom and a balcony, facing the oldest framework house in Germany. Which is also an unused marketing tool. This framework house has a rich history. Being a court of justice for the catholic abbey in the dark ages, where 30% of the woman were convicted witches. The town of Winningen, 5 km from the hotel, is still known as the witch village. The largest and only Keltic circle like Stone Hedge, is located between our village and Winningen. Where the hotel is now, used to be the abbey in those days. Which is why the Beer-Garten is still called ABTEIHOF. Which is ''courtyard of the abbey''.
The area is known for Riesling wines. Popular by bikers, hikers and romantic history lovers. There are more Castles and Citadels or Towers in this small area then in half of France, since in its entire history, it used to be the border with France. And since Roman times, it was defended by the barbarians. Roman remains are not difficult to find. Trier being the oldest city in Germany and Koblenz the most difficult city to conquer with the Rhine being the natural border.
Hotel Simonis is located between Cochem and Koblenz, 15 km from the Rhine and 5 minutes from the highway. It is romantically decorated with four poster beds and each room has its own bathroom. The rooms all have a minibar, flat screen TV and hairdryer. It has a 3 star facility in Germany, standard is usually higher then the rest of Europe. No major reparations or refurbishments will be needed in the coming years. Everything is in working order.
The building is well maintained, with a new heating system placed in 2008.

We run the hotel with only 1 housekeeper and ourselves as a couple. It is open 7 days a week from Easter to November, which leaves 5 months a year for marketing, holidays and new ideas.
