La Cornillière is a charming « petit château » XVIIth century.Very well-situated for visiting the renowned Loire Valley châteaux including Amboise,Chenonceaux,Villandry... The two spacious apartments and B&B have been decorated by Monsieur, an antiquarian and decorator of note who has completed commissions in Maine, Connecticut and New York as well as Paris and Touraine. The decoration of the apartments and B&B has the traditional spirit and charm of elegant french homes, and with every modern comfort.Le Logis ( 5 guests 3 bedrooms) occupies the [south] wing of the chateau which was expanded in the XIXth century.The furniture are all lovely country antiques.The atmosphere is very warm with toile de Jouy wallpapers in the bedrooms and printed fabrics in the living room. The views on one side are of the formal garden, on the other of a meadow of wild flowers.
La Closerie (5 guests 3 bedrooms) is less than 50 meters from the chateau and flanked by the orangerie(where la Cornilliere’s lemon trees spend the winter), pigeonier (although there are no longer any pigeons kept) and a barn. Beautifully renovated, it is decorated in a simple, elegant style. Inside, the antique furniture is painted and has a lovely patina, the walls are off white, and the floors of XVIII century tiles. La Closerie is both charming and serene.
La Suite - B&B Accommodating two to four guests
Another of the XVIIIth century stone outbuildings has been restored into a simple and refined guest suite with two bedrooms. Both have lovely toile curtains and the original tile floors.The two bedrooms are separated by a bathroom with toilet and shower, and a fully equipped kitchenette.
Breakfast of croissants and freshly baked bread are delivered to your doorstep each morning.
