If your idea of a perfect holiday is away from the madding crowds or tourist hotspots, then Villa Turquoise in Akbuk is an ideal solution. The perfect chill-out retreat, we can offer you a traditional atmosphere with modern facilities.
We fell in love with the location for many reasons. The semi-detached villa is well situated on a small cooperative settlement right on the edge of Akbuk, set on a pine tree covered hillside 10 minutes walk to the sea. The hills are accessible for peaceful walks literally a minute from the door.
The fabulous roof terrace offers spectacular panoramic views over the bay of Akbuk. This alfresco living area is well furnished with good quality sun-loungers, table and chairs,
a serving area, a built-in brick barbecue and an outside sink. In keeping with a retreat, a tv is not provided. However, music is most definitely an enhancement so a CD player is included!
We allow smoking on the terraces but not inside the Villa.
The village of Akbuk (7 minute drive) is a quiet traditional Turkish holiday resort with good beaches, water-sports, local shops, beach-side restaurants. It is an up and coming area with a new marina and golf courses soon to be built.
Very near to us are several fish farms where you will be able to purchase fresh catches. Many of the fishermen are happy to take you in their boats around the bay for a small fee.
The local bus (Dolmus) passes by the lower road of the Co-operative to Akbuk and takes a few minutes to the centre of the village. Altinkum/Didim by Dolmus is about 20 minutes where there is a lively nightlife, shops etc. and many sandy tourist beaches if required.
We can arrange a transfer payable on arrival at Bodrum airport (about 35 minutes away). You can then explore the beaches and pine forests in the surrounding areas and eat and shop locally, hiring a car on the odd day if required.
For those who wish to see further afield, it is worth considering arranging a hire car at Bodrum airport and driving to the Villa. North of Akbuk are some spectacular mountain views and ancient villages, not to mention Lake Bata. The Bodrum Peninsular is also well worth visiting as is Didim for those interested in Roman remains (and aqua parks!). You will also have good access to all the extra facilities in Didim/Altinkum.
Villa Turquoise is a lovely place for everyone. To be mellow, romantic or to live it up!
