The apartment is in Side, just 0.8 miles from the old walled city of Antiq Side.
Side is one of the Turkish Mediterraneans most attractive and popular resorts. Occupying a narrow peninsular on the sparkling Mediterranean coast, its history stretches back thousands of years. The resort is surrounded by stunning ruins, including the waterside Temple of Apollo and a well preserved Roman amphitheatre, which still hosts colourful performances. The ancient Roman ruins around Side date back to 200AD and you can take a few minutes or several hours to explore them, dependant on your time and interest.
Side bazaar is open 7 days a week in normal season until very late at night and consists of almost 3,500 shops, selling everything from shoes and sports wear to exclusive gifts and carpets. Most of the shop keepers enjoy bartering although a few shops have fixed prices advertised.
The harbour has an abundance of restaurants catering for every possible taste. Fresh grilled fish is a speciality and is particularly delicious. Either side of the harbour there are two stretches of sandy beaches, both with sun-beds and umbrellas available.
During the summer months the sea reaches almost 70 degrees. If you prefer a more secluded beach with sand dunes then this is located to the left when facing the sea and is known as the East Beach. This beach is only 0.6 miles from our apartment and can be easily reached using a free beach transport service. There are a lot of water sports from both the main beaches including paragliding, banana boats and jet ski’s.
Arcadia Apartments are in a quiet location, one block away from the main road. The nearest supermarket is just five minutes walk and there are restaurants including a particularly nice one just two minutes walk .
Further afield, but within easy reach are the Manavgat waterfall, Duden waterfalls and White Water Rafting at Beskonak in Koprukay National Park. It is easy to drive to the mountains and experience outstanding scenery. There are several local tour operators offering a wide range of packages to suite every taste.
The apartment is one of only 32 apartments in a quiet and beautifully landscaped complex. The complex is gated with on site security. There is a large private pool and sun area for the use of residents only.
The apartment in on 2 floors with an integral staircase, and occupies the middle, ground and first floor position, in a small block of 9. It was built by Mecitoglu Homes and completed in 2006 to a high standard.
Inside the apartment is very clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated throughout. There is air conditioning in all four main rooms. Both the upper and lower floors benefit from a main balcony out front and a smaller balcony behind. There is a table and chairs on the front lower balcony so that meals can be enjoyed outside.
There is a bathroom/shower on each floor, the upper bathroom has the benefit of a Jacuzzi as well.
For your entertainment there is an 30" LCD TV with Satellite and DVD player. There is also a Logitech iPod audiostation providing docking and recharge for a variety of iPod models. There is also an input for any MPEG3 player. Broadband is available on your own laptop though an ethernet connection behind the sofa in the lounge.
All of the windows/patio doors are double glazed with shutters in order to provide optimal temperature control.
Everything you need for self catering is provided.
The apartment is strictly non smoking, including the balconies.
Children are welcome, but unfortunately the apartment is not suitable for under fours owing to the marble staircase.

A holiday here has something for everyone. There is the excellent sandy beaches with the water sports and safe swimming. Just phone for the free beach service run by beach bar owners and you will be on the beach in a jiffy.
Then there is Antiq Side with many ruins and a museum to explore if you are interested in ancient history and culture. For the shopper Side is a vibrant and colourful shopping area full of boutiques and cafes. For the bargain hunter there is a market in nearby Manavgat which can easily be reached on one of the local buses.
For the more adventerous there are jeep safaris, white water rafting and horse riding within easy reach. Scuba diving and snorkelling can also be arranged with a pickup from the apartment. See: www.aquaage.com
Within a 30 minutes drive at Belek there are a number of professional golf courses, all of which have been designed to international standards, and are maintained to an extremely high standard. For those who love scenery, it is easy to hire a car and drive into the mountains, either up to the dam above Manavgat or slightly further afield to Beskonak and Selge, where you will see some outstanding mountain, and river views.
Or why not just chill by the pool, on the loungers provided, and enjoy the quiet ambience and lovely gardens.
For those who want to self cater, a good supermarket is only 5 minutes walk away. For those who prefer to eat out, there are a range of good restaurants, some within 2 minutes walking distance.

Note that flight prices change and very early or very late booking often pays dividends. If you have to go or return on specific dates it is well worth checking out Turkish airlines from Manchester or Heathrow as they offer a daily scheduled service via Istanbul which is often competitive.
