35 Costa De Cabanas is located just 5 minutes’ walk from the beach front. Cabanas is one of Portugals best kept secrets. Quiet and peaceful, yet not isolated and only ten minutes from the town of Tavira. The apartment benefits from the shared pool, with a shallow pool perfect for the children and a jacuzzi. Leading from the living room and kitchen is a large wrap around balcony on three sides with BBQ, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. With one twin bedroom and one double bedroom, the apartment is ideal for families and golfers alike, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.
The Eastern Algarve remains an unspoiled part of Portugal, and Cabanas is a perfect example of a traditional Algarvian fishing community.. I have been to the rest of Portugal, and there is just nowhere like the area around Canabas. Peace, quiet, charm, and friendly locals. Cabanas is a myriad of winding streets, with plenty of restaurants andthree or four bars. There are no clubs.
Average annual temperatures in this part of the Algarve varies between 16 and 35 degrees. If you like the sun a lot you will not be disappointed. My favourite months are Feb and March
TAVIRA
Cabanas is only two miles from the beautiful town of Tavira, an absolute charm of a town. This distinctive town has a greater variety of architectureal detail than most. Both banks of the River Gilao, which passes through the centre, are lined by noble houses with baroque window frames and balustraded paraphets. Most have wrought iron balconies, whose decoration is mirrored in the railings of the pedestrian bridge that links the two sides of the town. The hip gabled roofs are highly distinctive, known as tesouro (treasure) roofs.
Tavira is also known as the "Little Venice of Portugal". The town has 37 churches including the Church of the Misericordia with its beautiful Renaissance door and carved alter.
35 Costa de Cabanas is about the finest location in an excellent appartment complex. It is the only one of two appartments that overlooks a small neighbouring farm, and had a wrap around balcony that could seat nearly 30 guests if you were that way inclined. It gives you the opportunity to bask in the sun all day, or stay in the shade if you so wish.
The beach is accessible by boat, which ferries people to and fro all day long from April to October for only 1 Euro. Several local fishermen offer this service. The beach has its own cafe bar, changing facilities and toilets. Parasol, sunbeds, ski and paddle boat hire alr all available.
Located in Cabanas de Tavira, the surrounding lands of "Aldeia de Forteleza" are protected by a preservation order allowing this development a guarantee of privacy and seclusion.
Cabanas is a traditional village and you can walk along the palm tree lined road along the bay, where you will be spoiled for choice when wou try and choose a cafe or restaurant for lunch or dinner. Every year another one or two new restaurants spring up offering plenty of variety to the holiday maker.
Cabanas is only 25 minutes away from the Spanish border. The town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio is hugly popular with Spanis and portuguese alike when it comes to stocking up with linen and towels.. It;s also a beautiful town in its own right.
There is a Railway station about 15 minutes walk from the apartment.. You can catch a train here and travel to Faro or further. Or indeed head East towards Spain.
And for Golfers, this is your Paradise. The nearby Benamor Golf club which opened in 2000 is an 18 hole par 71 (69). Facilities incluse Putting Green, Club and buggy hire, Driving range. A round costs about €75 in any season. There are 30 Golf Couyrses in the Algarve making it the no 1 destination for golfers in Europe.
