Our apartment is situated on the first floor of a white stone, two storey semi detached building, access by stairs. It comprises two bedrooms, a kitchenette, a living room with fireplace and bathroom. There is also a terrace with table and chairs where you can eat or just relax and take in the sea air. The apartments strong point is the breathtaking view over Leuca to the sea and the lighthouse.You will find everything you need for a comfortable stay. Leuca is right at the tip of Italy s heel in fact its ancient Latin name is De Finibus Terrae ( Lands End). Its location is magical,for centuries pilgrimages were made to its Sanctuary. Its beauty is stunning, the coastline is part rock, part sand, it has something to offer to all tastes. The crystal clear sea is home to many different types of sealife and ideal for snorkelling or deep sea diving.There are lots of sea caves to explore by boat, (boat hire or excursions are available ),on foot (Grotta della Zinzulusa) or if you prefer you can just relax on a sandy beach and work on your tan.The promenade is backed by elegant, noble villas built in the last century and is where the locals meet and stroll in the warm summer evenings.There is a lively port which accommodates both the simple fishermans boat and the millionaires yacht.In the summer months, Leuca pulses with life and you are spoilt for choice if searching for somewhere to eat or a nightclub to dance the night away.The Spring and Autumn months are quieter and for those who want to immerse themselves in the wonderful sights,smells and sensations that this magnificent coastal region has to offer. The Salento region is experiencing an incredible period of revival and rediscovery. There are beautiful ancient towns to discover like Gallipoli, Otranto or Lecce, known as the Florence of the South, famous for its baroque architecture. The unique secular olive trees which twist into contorted shapes, characterize the landscape as do the "Trulli" old stone huts used in the past for storage. You will leave your heart in this unspoilt paradise.
