From the mosquito blinds at every window, so that you can enjoy the cooling night breezes in the heat of the summer, to the beautiful stone fireplace in the large sitting room, creating a cosy atmosphere for games and conversation on cold Winter evenings - all the most minute details have been addressed. Behind the house are woods which you can walk through down to the valley and olive groves – the kids love exploring them and although they are not ours the owner isn’t bothered. You can definitely walk to get coffee and ice cream, the bar also has a basic range of sandwiches and croissants and a table football machine! Except for August, when it is closed, there is a trattoria behind the bar where you can get a bowl of pasta and a bottle of wine very cheaply. On Saturday and Sunday (except for August) the Pizzeria is open and boasts a very good sit-down menu. There is also a very well stocked shop next to the bar with all the basics, meats, cheeses, bread, cereals ,cleaning supplies etc open all year round. All of these - the bar, shop and pizzeria are about 50mts from the end of the drive. Only 10 minutes drive away is the medieval walled city of Lucca, which, quite apart from its beauty, cultural and historic attractions, also possesses a fantastic choice of restaurants, shops, bars and markets. Here at Casa dei Lecci, you are very much at the centre of everything, whether you feel like a trip to Florence, Pisa or the seaside at Viareggio. If all that activity sounds a bit much, you can always wander the 50 metres or so to the little bar, trattoria and shop in San Ginese where you will always have a warm welcome! A stylish and extremely comfortable home, both Summer and Winter for large groups or families sharing. The rental price also includes a maid, 4 hrs per day, 3 days per week.
