There is a building in Florence called Palazzo delle Stelle, located only a 10 minutes walk from the Duomo and Piazza della Republica. This beautiful palazza was built in the 16th century by Cosimo 1st de' Medici and it was home. It was also the laboratory of the sculptor Giambologna from 1600 to 1608, during which time he created, among other works of art now in the Loggia de' Lanzi in Piazza Signoria, the equestrian statues of Cosimo 1st and Ferdinando 1st, to be seen respectively in Piazza Signoria and Piazza Santissima Annunziata. The apartment has now been restructured to its Renaissance splendour and is available to rent for weekly or longer periods.
