Ballyconneely is a smaller village, three miles in the other direction and has an 18 hole championship golf course.  Calla beach is about 5 minutes walk and has beautiful white sand and is very secluded. There are several other beaches in the area as well as horse riding and deep sea fishing trips, interesting coastline and lots of lakes.

The Locality There is a par 72 golf course at Ballyconneely. Ballyconneely lies at the neck of a peninsula which is lined with beautiful beaches. False beach at Dunloughan in the west is good for surfing. Some of the beaches are popular for shore fishing. Attractions around Ballyconneely include Roundstone Bog to the east, the Derrygimla bog to the north near Ballinaboy. For golfers and fishermen it is a great location.
