Cozumel is the island of Love and lies just twelve miles off the Yucatan Coast, a 45 minute ferry ride from the famed Riviera Maya. Dive into the crystal blue waters of Cozumel and discover why Jacques Cousteau called it the "best diving area in the world." Palancar Reef, the second largest in the world, provides an incredible diversity of species, stunning sites and visibility of at least 150 feet. Whether you're a first time snorkeler or an experienced diver, the intricate coral reefs with their schools of painted fish will amaze you!
If you want to stay dry, you can still capture the amazing beauty of the sea life below as you cruise along the clear blue waters in a glass bottom boat. Playa Bonita is on the oceanside of the island but the beach is fabulous. You can sit and watch the sun shimmer off the cobalt blue Carribbean waves as they turn to turquoise before coming ashore on the white sandy beach.
You imagine January at home "what is it 25 degrees outside" NOW FEEL Cozumel "what is it 81 degrees" as you walk barefoot in the sand YOUR CHOICE!! Cozumel is comfortable all year even in the summer because of the cross-island breezes that are always blowing. You go to the beach, sit under a palapa and order an adult beverage from the waiter and watch the sun sparkle on the soft Blue waves washing ashore. You decide to try "parasailing" it's all here waiting for you. That's on the leeward side now try the WILD side. You can do some surfing or check out Coconut's bar or any of the others on that side. There is good food and a string of about 10 places to stop at.
You can also take in the remains of Mayan temples right on the island or visit major ruins of other Mayan cities a short distance away in Cancun, which you can reach by high-speed boat or small aircraft.
The colorful town of San Miguel is the center of activity. Its main square is surrounded by many shops and eateries. Nightlife is varied, too, with exciting clubs, lively discos, and quiet, romantic strolls around the quaint city plaza or along the miles of beach.
Casa Shirley is located in a residential area of Cozumel, yet only minutes away from the Caribbean's blue waters or fine dining in the plaza in the evening. This three-bedroom, two-bath home has a fully equipped kitchen for dining in or a quick snack in the afternoon. The furnished living area is separated from the kitchen by an island with four stools to facilitate conversation or relaxation any time of day. A whisper quiet central air conditioning unit also helps to relax and cool you both day and night. Every room also has a ceiling fan. The master bedroom has its own private bath and terrace. The additional two bedrooms also have adjoining tiled terraces for sunbathing or enjoying Cozumel’s cross-island breezes in the evening. Below the terrace is an ideal place for an early morning breakfast or watching the sunrise. This walled home has the privacy you are looking for with a locked parking area. You can rent a car or moped online before you come but taxis are everywhere on the island. Our house manager (ENRIQUE) will meet you at the airport to help get you settled in the day you arrive.
If you rent a scooter or car to go to the wild side or to see the Ruins, we have off street locked parking. Or you may want to take the ferry across to playa for the day…this is really fun almost like two vacations in one, Playa is more European. |
