Gumusluk (Goo-moosh-look) has been the scene of some momentous events in history. When Anthony and Cleopatra set sail for Rome - they made a stop here. Myndos is where Brutus and his fellow conspirators hatched their plan to murder Julius Caesar and is also the site Brutus fled to and hid for a time after the assassination. Today, this 5,000-year-old site is an important part of Turkish tourism. It is totally cosmopolitan and very popular, particularly with British tourists.

Gumusluk , is on the opposite side of the Bodrum Peninsula, about 20 minutes by car or local minibus from Bodrum. The village is still a lively fishing port, with more than a dozen fish restaurants along the sea front, displaying a wide variety of locally caught seafood.

Once the ancient city of Myndos, the village is now in a conservation area, so no cars are allowed in the centre. The westerly aspect of Gumusluk provides some spectacular sunsets, aperitif in hand listening to the evocative pop-pop sound of the single piston fishing boats chugging their way into the harbour is a pleasure not to be missed.

There are local shops next to the apartments, and a local bus stops right outside. It's the perfect family spot, with great views of the hills with the windmills on the top. The site has a really nice atmosphere, and is very private. It’s beautifully finished and landscaped. It’s on flat ground, so no steps up and down to the pool area etc. There is a private roof terrace as well, where you can relax on cushions at night!
