Go back in time ..... with all the comforts of Home !
Perched on a craggy spur overlooking the Lot valley, Pasturat is a tiny tranquil village in the heart of the Quercy region in SW France, which has remained unspoilt for centuries.
The holiday home (gite) is all on one level, and has been fashioned out of a converted stone barn, just above the village, with its own garden and private west-facing terrace. The owners live in the farm-house next door, and are discreetly available to sort out any queries you may have.
The gite enjoys the use of a 40 foot, solar-heated salt-water swimming pool, which is set in its own grounds, with fabulous views across the Lot valley.
The barn-conversion has preserved all the rustic charm of the original, but integrates a fitted oak kitchen with washing-machine, microwave, ceramic hob & built-in oven, a dining area, and a lounge area with TV/VCR/DVD & music-centre, and a library of english books and videos. There's a shower-room, and two bedrooms: one with a queen-size (5ft 3" wide) double bed and the other with two 3ft-wide single beds.
The holiday home is on the edge of 'Le Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy', which is a region of outstanding scenery, renowned for its rural calm, slumbering medieval towns and villages, its fine cuisine and excellent dark Appellation Contrôlée wines. St. Cirq Lapopie, honoured as one of 'Les plus beaux villages de France' and the prehistoric caves of Pech Merle are both on the doorstep.
There is a wealth of literature in the gite about the surrounding area.
Surrounded by magnificent scenery, a rich variety of historic sites to explore and in one of THE gastronomic centres of France, what better place for a relaxing holiday?
The accomodation rents for £250 per week in low season, £395 p.w. in mid-season, and £495 p.w. in high season.
