La Casita Amarilla is a cottage on the grounds of a working ecological farm, built recently in authentic rustic Andalucian style. Lots of animals like horses, goats, rabbits, chicken, pigs, dogs and cats. Because of all these animals present on the farm, pets from renters are not allowed.
Situated in the interior of the northeastern part of the province of Málaga, the climate is quite different from the coast. Here you can enjoy the heat of summerdays, while the nights are comfortably cool.
There is no air conditioning in the cottage, there is no need as it has been constructed with the most up to date insulating building materials, imitating the effect of the old farm houses. They keep cool during the summer and are easy to heat in the cooler months.
During the summermonths the village pool is opened and is a real treasure for its beautiful views over the village, lovely surroundings with lots of shade from pine trees and a fantastic restaurant.
The village can supply you with all your everyday grocery necessities. Larger supermarkets are found in Archidona and Antequera. Nearest shopping mall: Antequera (25 min), next Málaga (40 minutes).
You can use the cottage as your home base for outings to either beach or snow. The Sierra Nevada is only an hour away and it skiiing facilities are excellent.
For Golfers the Antequera golf course is nearest, untill our neighbouring town Rosario finishes their own. And of course the coastal area offers a choice of golf courses as well.
The rural area with its wide network of unpaved country roads is very inviting for both hikers as horse riding afficionados. You can walk for hours without once having to double a road. Our own horses are not available for hikes, but at a 5min. distance an English family offers both riding lessons and hiking facilities.
At the farm, we cultivate a large veggie plot, bake our own bread from organic flour (milled at home just seconds before it's used), make yoghurt and cheese from the milk of our goats and our free range chicken lay eggs in abundance. We offer the farm-products for sale in the village, and of course this same service is extended to our guests.
The kitchen of the cottage is equipped with a gas stove with oven, water heater, blender, coffee machine and a fridge of course. You will also find a selection of often used pantry items like cooking oil, vinegar, coffee, tea, sugar, flour and a variety of herbs and spices. We only ask that you replace the items as you would at home; just before you run out of anything, so the next renters can enjoy the same items likewise.
A free of charge welcome packet of some fresh eggs, milk, a bottle of wine and water and some products from the veggie plot (depending on the season for availability of course) will be present on arrival.
If you are interested in renting the property, we will send you are 'home rules' by email. If you agree with these, we will send you our bank information so you will be able to pay the deposit. On receiving your payment, your reservation is definite. |
