Located in the large village of Villanueva del Trabuco and with fantastic mountain views, Casa Jerel is only a 45 minute drive to the coast at Torremolinos and a 65 minute drive to the coast at Nerja. Villanueva del Trabuco is an agricultural town with many olive groves and wheat fields that can be seen from the south facing private covered terrace. Casa Jerel is located in the village at a higher level on a pedestrianised narrow street. The stepped street in front of the house takes you down to the lower level where the shops, bars and restaurants can be found. The house is well-equipped for holidays in any season as it has free-standing fans for the summer and mobile gas and electric heaters for the winter. In 2007 a new insulated roof was put on Casa Jerel which gives the bedrooms more light and air.
The village is just 10 minutes on good roads from the motorway network giving excellent and fast access to Málaga, Granada. Antequera, Gibraltar, Cordóba and Seville. This makes Casa Jerel an ideal place to stay if you wish to explore this part of Spain.
There are many wonderful months in which to visit this area. We recommend September, October, November, March, April and May if you don't have to travel in school holidays. These are ideal months for visiting if you wish to do birdwatching or visit the famous towns. We can arrange local birdwatching excursions with an expert. Recommended places to visit besides the main cities of this area are:- The Wolf Park near Antequera, El Torcal near Antequera, the flamingos and the donkey sanctuary at Fuente de Piedra. We have many photos of the village, surrounding countryside and cultural events.
In the summer months of July and August the village swimming pool is an ideal place to spend some time. There is a large pool with surrounding grassy areas and a bar/restaurant in the grounds. |
