One can swim, hike, boat and fish while exploring the region at leisure including its Provincial Parks. The award winning town of Perth is ten minutes from the Cottage. Perth (beautifulperth.com) was designated as a historical town several years ago and offers the visitor many sites of interest with good restaurants and shopping. Grassmere cottage is 45 minutes from Ottawa (ottawa.com.) Ottawa offers many outdoor festivals, music concerts and a full array of museums, art galleries etc as shown on web site. Montreal is a two hours drive and Toronto a 4 hours drive. The Grassmere cottage is a lovely house for discerning guests and families, elegantly furnished with care and affording breathtaking views of a large wildlife bay which is part of Big Rideau Lake. A verandah wraps around the entire house and leads out to lovely garden with picnic tables and barbeque gazebo. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a spacious lounge/dining area with stone fireplace and a large recreation/games room. It is beautifully furnished and decorated with all the amenities of home. The owner’s home is adjacent to the property and operates as a horse farm. Kayaks are available for use and the owner will take you on a boat tour of the lakes. Rental of horse stalls can be arranged for renters with horses. This is a non smoking cottage.
